MUSC Cares
| Uniform Drive Collected for Grass Roots Soccer |
A previous uniform drive collected enough uniforms for 36 teams!
In previous years the uniforms were sent throughout the world via many organizations. Grassroots Soccer brought soccer uniforms to South Africa where they set up soccer leagues. In order to play in the league players had to take classes about AIDS. There is now a new Morris United soccer league in the Ukraine. MUSC Rec Uniforms have also been sent to Colombia, Turks & Caicos, Haiti, Trinidad & Tobago.
This year we are going to give coaches a bag to collect uniforms. At the end of the games we will collect shirts, shorts, socks and even cleats. (Please tie the cleats together) So please wear a shirt under your uniform this week and consider donating your uniform to a good cause. We will even take Morris United uniforms from previous years... so clean out those closets.
We are also looking for help on the last day of the season if you would like to get involved at Frelinghuysen and Alfred Vail. Thank you in advance for supporting the uniform drive.

For the past four seasons, MUSC Rec soccer has asked families to donate their old uniforms and equipment at the end of each season. The uniforms sets and equipment have been shipped to various charitable organizations around the world to be donated to kids that are passionate about the game, but lack the resources to ever own cleats or wear matching uniforms. The program has been an enormous success, and more then 1500 MUSC uniforms have been shipped to youth soccer organizations in Colombia, Haiti, Ukraine, South Africa and Turks & Caicos. There is even now a Morris United soccer league in the Ukraine, supplied with uniforms donated by our players. |

This year, more than 1600 pounds of food was collected for the food pantry, and in the three years since it's inception, almost 6000 pounds of food has been donated by the club members (there are 900+ kids in the Rec soccer program) |
